Champions elect, Manchester City welcome David Moyes’ high flying Hammers this Saturday lunchtime in what’s sure to be an entertaining way to open up this weekend’s Premier League fixtures.
The hosts are 10 points clear at the top and have a great record against their guests.
But, this year, West Ham are proving no pushover for opponents.
Could a surprise result be on the cards?

Manchester City vs West Ham Predictions
Pep’s City have won 19 on the bounce and are favourites to stretch that record further.
However, it could just be that there is no better placed team to challenge that record given Moyes’ tendency to stifle other sides into submission.
That said, the Hammers will need to break an unattractive trend. They have not won in any of their last 10 Premier League meetings against the Citizens.
I don’t expect Moyes to change the habit of a lifetime and go on the attack at the Etihad and to do so would likely prove to be reckless so the Hammers will come looking to frustrate their hosts.
The Hammers have demonstrated their resilience during their march on the top four, picking up eight wins in last nine Premier League matches and humiliating Spurs last time out.
They are certainly more than capable of making Manchester very uncomfortable or, at the very least, keeping the score respectable.
I confess, though, I had similar thoughts two weeks ago when West Ham hosted a woefully out of form Liverpool, only to be outclassed.
There is no worse team for accumulator busting than West Ham who always possess the knack of deceiving, winning unexpectedly or losing when there really is no need to.
Here, while I expect it to be a tight contest, it is equally as possible that they will be on the end of hiding from City.
So, while I expect West Ham to push City all the way, I do think that Pep’s charges will have made it 20 in a row come 14.15 in what is likely to be a low scoring affair.

Manchester City Team News
As well as being runaway league leaders, Pep’s Manchester City have an almost full squad to call upon.
Their only real concern is long term absentee Dutch centre half Nathan Ake who remains unavailable for selection thanks to a persistent muscle issue.
Sergio Aguero, an unused substitute for the past four matches, might get a runout.
West Ham Team News
David Moyes will not be able to call upon full back Arthur Masuaku or his Ukrainian winger Andriy Yarmolenko, both long term absentees.
Ryan Fredericks is also a doubt thanks to a groin strain.
